It took a while for advertisers to embrace the promise of digital media, but a milestone was reached in 2017. That’s when advertisers spent more on digital ads than on traditional TV marketing. Digital ad spending totaled $209 billion USD worldwide in 2017, or 41 percent of the market, compared to $178 billion USD spent on TV. And estimates show that the gap is expected to get even larger.
